Have a Callaway Turbo Mk1 Rabbit. Supposedly, at 12lbs it makes a reliable 200hp. There's word of some running 22lbs.

I grew up near the Callaway factory in CT. Spent a bunch of time there and getting to know Reeves. Best part is I have a friend who also knows him and convinced him to work a mk1 BROWN 2 door Jetta diesel. Thing is awfully fast for a warmed over 1.6, and he still daily drives it. Love all of Reeves' early work (and all of it really)

I know of a Mk1 Jetta Coupe with a Callaway Turbo kit with a new turbo making well north of 200hp. Blows transmissions often.

Ah, the days when we didn't think that anything that took over 7 seconds to get to 60 is slow, or a minivan should have at least 280 hp.
